I have been sober for just over 1 year now.
That title makes it sound like I have a drink problem, ha. I can assure you that I don’t, even before I made the decision to stop drinking alcohol I wasn’t a heavy drinker. Maybe 3 or 4 drinks per week, usually on a Tuesday night in my local pub with my other half and some friends.
When I decided to do this weight loss thing, and started to learn about calories - I thought ‘Why waste calories on booze, calories are for eating not drinking” - Give me the choice between a pint of stellar or a bowl of cereal and the cereal wins hands down every time. I haven’t struggled at all without it, though when I started I honestly thought it’d just be a little fad and I’d be drinking again within the month. Go me.
