Camping is the new jet setting!
I remember when I was a teenager, every one used to go on holiday abroad - including us, and when I got a little older heading off on a package holiday to somewhere hot and sunny like Majorca with friends was the thing to do, it was cool - and if you had to admit that actually, you were going caravaning or camping in the good old UK, you’d be embarrassed.
How times have changed, these days most people I know go camping or caravaning in the UK or somewhere a little further afield in Europe. I think it’s down mainly to the fact that it’s just so much cheaper and easier, and with the economy the way it is in the UK - saving money is important to most people. In recent years I have been to Skegness, Ingoldmells, Scotland, Cornwall and South Wales - and I’ve been loud and proud about it.
Another great reason to take a Camping Europe holiday, rather than a package holiday for someone like me, who’s trying to be healthy and lose weight - is that it’s so much easier to keep up. Package holidays encourage all you can eat buffets, drinking copious amounts of alcohol and lounging by the pool all day. Camping holidays require you to cook for and feed yourself and do lots of walking to get any where you want to go.
Basically, I’d take camping in somewhere interesting like Austria over a loud sweaty package deal in Majorca any day ![]()

I haven’t seen you mention exercise anywhere in your posts.
Are you just trying to achieve weight loss through dieting?
If so, that’s a long, hard row to hoe.
If you could just figure out a way to get some regular exercise into your week, you might see some results.

Yeah, I work out regularly. Usually any where from 30 - 60 minutes 5 days a week on the elliptical and 30 minutes twice a week on weights/toning.
Thanks for your comment
