Well yesterday I had my first failure at Couch to 5k, I have also somehow gained 4 pounds – although actually you’ll notice I have not ‘logged’ the gain or updated my stats because I don’t actually believe it to be accurate. I think I am just retaining water due to that time of the month.
So back to yesterday – I decided to go out while the world cup match was on and it was bliss, not a person in sight and hardly any cars – I felt like I had the streets to myself. However about 15 minutes in I started getting stomach cramps, I ran through them and figured as I was doing my 2.30 power walking they’d ease off or go away – not to be, they got worse and I was actually in a lot of pain. It was then time to run again and I tried, I really did, but it just wasn’t happening so I ended up walking for the next 10 minutes.
If I had had my phone on me I’d have been calling someone to come get me because I really couldn’t walk and I was as far away from home as I get.
Eventually it did ease off and I tried to run a little bit so I didn’t feel too bad about walking so much, but I am pretty sure I will have to redo the day
I don’t know why it happened, I don’t know if it was cramps from pulling something or over exertion or if I just needed the toilet or what – but I hope it was a one off.
