So around a week ago I took a massive step in my weight loss journey – I increased my calories by 250 a day to my maintenance number, I guess that means I have officially stopped trying to lose weight.

After 4 years this is certainly going to take some getting used to.

The thing is I really wanted to get to 100lbs lost in total – but after being stuck at 98lbs lost for 8+ months it might just be time to admit my body is where it wants to be. I’m not going to lie, if this results in me losing a few more pounds I will be thrilled as I would still love to get down to my magic number and if it doesn’t work out and I start gaining weight I will have to have a rethink.

In other news I am still doing my Turbofire – I have two weeks left to go before finishing the first 12 week plan, after that I will probably go on to do ‘Insanity’ or Chalean Extreme. I am still trying to get out and run when I can but have not been nearly as dedicated as I was last year.

I am going to reward myself by getting some nice new goodies like clothes and beauty products, I have been looking at beauty product reviews to see where I should send my pennies

I have not seen much movement either way since moving in with my boyfriend just over 2 months ago now.

I am quite happy to be maintaining for now though. I fully admit I have taken my foot off the gas somewhat – I still eat well but I also allow myself treats a lot more often and I am not working out nearly as much as I was before. Mainly because I have been suffering badly with my migraines but also because the weather has turned nasty and it’s getting dark by 4pm now so it’s near impossible to get out for a run.

I think I will continue on as I am now for a while longer and then get myself to the gym (can you believe I have never actually been to a gym?) and get back on the wagon food wise in the new year. It’s just nice to have a little break from it all after almost 4 years of counting every calorie and working out daily

I’ve been at it again, treating myself.

This definitely seems to be my new thing, rewarding myself with shopping for clothes and cosmetics and jewellery and other girlie goodness. I never used to bother treating myself so am not sure why now that I am almost at my goal weight I have started to do so, but I like it

Bottega Verde is one of my (many) favourite cosmetics brands but you could only get their products in Italy previously. Now they are coming to the USA thanks to the Internet so that we can order all their goodies online and I am very excited. I absolutely love their aloe products as I have sensitive skin and have always found aloe vera really gentle but still effective.

Check out this gorgeous Italian package they are offering as well, I think I would kill someone to own that as it would sit perfectly in my collection

That will have to wait until my next ‘treat’ though as I just spent far too much to celebrate my ‘normal’ BMI on a gorgeous brand new size 10 coat.

I have reached another weight loss goal – weighing in at 8.13 I am now under 9 stone and have not been in the 8′s since I was a very young teenager. Obviously I don’t want to reward myself with food so shopping for clothes, accessories and make up is the next best thing

I got a gorgeous new coat that is a size 10 – the lowest I have ever been and as I say, just ordered a load of gorgeous makeup goodies from BH Cosmetics. I have never used their products before but a few friends do and they have been telling me how great they are so I decided to give them a go.

The BH Cosmetics eyeshadow have come most highly recommended because it is highly pigmented, bendable and has really strong staying power which would suit my long days perfectly as I don’t want to have to worry about reapplying – once or at most twice per day is plenty for me.

I am excited for when all my packages get here

I was quite surprised when I weighed in tonight and had lost another pound, I was not expecting a loss this week as I have not worked out nearly as much as usual.

We took a trip away for 3 days so I didn’t get the chance to use my elliptical, though we did do an awful lot of walking so I suppose I probably burned as many calories that way.

Well for whatever reason it happened, I am definitely happy about it – it means that I have hit my next mini goal of being 9.9 and can now move onto the next one and the next one is a big one – when I reach my next goal of 9.2 I will no longer be overweight according to my BMI, I will be a healthy/normal weight.

Given how slowly I am losing these days I expect it to be at least a few months before I get there, probably in the summer – but get there I will

My fiance told me I was “obsessed with this weight loss thing” a few days ago, it was after I had told him about all my new goals – I can understand why he said it because when I started out my goal was 10.2 and I said I would be happy at that, now that I have reached and passed that I have about 6 new goals. Hmm.

My current weight is 9.10 and here are the new goals I have set and the reasons:

9.9 – Will be in double digit weight for the first time ever. My fiance points out I will be back into triple digits when I get to 8.13 but that’s not really the point, it’s just the first possible double digit number.
9.2 – My BMI will be 24.9, in the healthy range for the first and only time in my entire life.
8.13 – I will be under 9 stone.
8.8 – I will have lost a total of 100 pounds.
8.1 – I will have lost 50% of my body weight.
7.13 – I will be under 8 stone.
7.10 – 8 stone lost in total.

The way I see it this isn’t a bad thing, I lose weight very slowly and have kept myself motivated by setting these mini goals so it’s hard to get out of the habit – plus I always said that I wasn’t going to be ‘done’ at my initial goal weight as that was just the lowest I had ever been before and after that it was going to be new territory for me. At my new final goal I will still be sitting right in the middle of the healthy BMI weight range so it’s all good as far as I am concerned

I remembered why I set my main weight loss goal at 9.9, I couldn’t understand why I would set my next goal at just 1lb lower than my current one and it didn’t appear to be any sort of milestone in either pounds, stone, KGs or BMI.

Last night I remembered my logic behind it.

It’s because my weight will be two digits instead of three for the first time ever.

9.9

Not 9.10, or 10.0 or 10.10.

Jut two digits.

It’s a bit of a silly reason which is why I forgot, but I think it’s a pretty big achievement still

I am looking at my next main goal listed on the side there and trying to remember why I have it set as 9.9 – usually I set at at something that is a major milestone like 50 pounds lost, 5 stone lost, less than ever before, no longer obese BMI etc but no matter what I can’t work out what significance 9.9 has.

At 9.10 I will have lost a total of 6 stone, which is 84 pounds – so maybe it’s because that will be a total of 85 lost but I don’t know that doesn’t seem like the sort of major goal I would get excited about. At 9.9 my BMI will be 26.4, again not the sort of thing I’d set as a main goal. I will weigh 135 pounds at 9.9 which again…not a big deal.

I just can’t work it out!

I can’t even remember the last time I weighed under 10 stone, I was probably a teenager and when I started out on this journey being under 10 stone seemed like a ridiculous goal – I can’t believe I am finally there

I have decided to treat myself to something nice as a reward, I had been hinting at my fiance that perhaps he’d like to treat me and take me away for a night or two away somewhere nice, but like most men he doesn’t seem to have picked up on it.

Even though the Accor Hotels 3-Day Super Sale Asia Pacific starts tomorrow and they have some killer prices with rates starting as low as $30 per night, I don’t think we’ll be able to stretch that far – given we’d need to pay $100s for flights as well lol – maybe when I reach my overall and final goal though hey? You can book now for dates between December and April so I may well have actually reached my final goal by then.

I will just have to settle for the nice cardigan I have seen instead, I have had my eye on it for a while and it actually makes sense to reward myself with clothes – I love buying UK size 12!
