It’s been two weeks today since I last attempted to run and I really wanted to give it another go today as I am moving out to a completely new area on Monday, so it was going to be my final chance to run my ‘old route’, it would have been nice to say goodbye to it. But alas while packing yesterday I aggravated it again and although I probably could run on it I feel it would be stupid to do so as I have a million and one things to do over the next few days and obviously don’t want to be in pain on moving day.

There are a lot of sites online that seem to concentrate on drastic weight loss though, rather than slow, steady weight loss – I suppose because that’s what a lot of people are looking for these days.

I know when I started out and did the maths in my head and realised that at the rate I was losing weight I would still be in the overweight category in three years time I almost gave up, many times. But ultimately managed to talk myself into sticking at it because that time was going to pass regardless – so I could either age three years and still be 100 pounds overweight or I could age three years and be a much more happy and confident person due to losing 100 pounds

I just came across another site with a wealth of information about diet and weight loss and am going to work my way through some of the posts this afternoon.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little nervous about what this is going to mean for my weight loss. Obviously I have all the best intentions for my diet and working out, but who knows how it’s going to actually turn out when I get into the swing of things down there. I am going to have a lot more responsibilities than I do now and I will be a lot busier.

Plus there’s still the issue that I still can’t run at the moment because of my twisted knee and I am finding it hard to motivate myself in other ways because all I want to do is RUN!

What I have decided though is there’s no point fretting about it, we’ll just have to see how it goes

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of WeReward. All opinions are 100% mine.

Have you heard about WeReward.com? It's a new system from Izea that allows you to earn points at millions of places across the USA.

And the cool thing is it's all done via your mobile device, you can currently get WeReward for iPhone or WeReward for Android and a Blackberry option is on the way at the end of the month.

Every point you earn is worth 1 cent, so a 500 point task will earn you $5. There are three main ways to earn points – through check ins, tasks and through referring your friends.

Check ins require you to physically go to places in your area and usually take a photo of yourself performing a task such as eating sushi, you then send the photo via various social media sites such as facebook and twitter and once confirmed the points are added to your account.

Tasks are similar to check ins but can be done anywhere, you don't need to physically be in any specific location.

And finally referring friend which is pretty self explanatory – you tell your friends how great WeReward is and once they are signed up and start completing tasks you'll earn a nice little 10% of all the points they earn along the way.

The major downside of WeReward? It's currently only available for those living in the USA so us Brits can't take part – boo! Hopefully they will expand and make it available in other locations at some point

So, the day after I completed the Couch to 5k Running plan – I twisted my knee. How’s that for bad luck? I am not even totally sure how it happened, I just lost my concentration for a few seconds as there were a group of guys being rowdy and had a little wobble – five minutes later I couldn’t run any more and had to walk the rest of the way home and then could hardly walk for three days

It’s now been going on four weeks and I still can’t run on it. It’s OK in general but as soon as I run on it the pain comes back and I have to stop and then I can hardly walk on it again for a few days.

So my running career is currently on hold and I definitely miss it, I was really enjoying it and was already planning my next goals after completing couch to 5k.

I am actually moving house on the 23rd so am going to have another few weeks off then hopefully pick it up again in my new location

I decided to treat myself at the weekend for getting to my goal of having a ‘normal’ BMI, over 3 years ago I started out on this weight loss journey with a BMI of 43, it’s been a long and often tough road so I definitely deserved a little something, something.

After a little thought I decided that a lovely new pair of ghd Straighteners was the way forward. I have owned various hair straighteners over the years but have always been disappointed with them, have paid any where from £5 to £40 in the passed and they’ve all given a similar result – I figured this was just because of the state of my hair and that no matter how much money I spent on a pair of straighteners the result would be similar. My hair in extremely fine and flyaway, so straightening it tends to make it just look flat and even finer.

Then I actually tried a friends GHDs and was instantly sold. My hair looked thicker, smooth as a baby’s bottom and the result lasted easily until the next time I washed my hair. So I decided to save up and get myself some.

Then at the weekend this great deal was posted on a bargains website I am a member of and I just couldn’t resist – they were £100 but there was a 20% off code and you got some free heat protection spray which was worth £10 in itself – how could I pass it up?

A male friend mentioned the other week that he didn’t understand why all females were so obsessed with having straight hair these days and I had to explain that that’s only part of why people use them – you can actually create many styles with them including curls. For me the main reason I use them is to make my hair smooth, rather than straight.

I can’t wait until they arrive in a few days time

I actually really liked wearing them – the day I used to go pick out a new pair was like a birthday to me.

Of course this changed when I got older and had to pay for them myself, I had no idea how much they cost before that – my poor parents must have spent $1000s on them for me.

I have missed them since I stopped needing to wear them, but at the same time was happy about the money I was saving.

Now I have found a site where you can get them for as little as $8, yes I said $8. It’s a a well known and respected company, they even had an article written about them in The Examiner recently.

At $8 I think I am going to order some with plain lenses to start wearing – I no longer need a prescription but that doesn’t mean I can’t still were glasses if I want to, right?

I think I am going to go for a nice black rimmed pair, keep it simple and classic – though they have an awful lot of much more funky ones to choose from.

Don’t get me wrong, when the time came to stop I was very happy to be stopping, but I reckon if I’d had another 5 minutes to go I would have pushed through and managed it.

I am not sure what my next step is – should I start entering actual 5k runs, concentrate on trying to improve my time or seeing if I can run further? Decisions Decisions.

I’m a runner!
