I was really busy on Monday and Tuesday and usually I’d work out at least a little bit any way, but I just felt like I had been hit by a ton of bricks – despite getting caught up on lots of sleep I was still worn out.

On Tuesday night a migraine hit me, so that explained why I had been feeling so rough. It has been a pretty mild one thankfully, but very persistent – I have not had a moments break from it.

Jump to yesterday when I was feeling a lot better and hadn’t had any visual disturbances in over 24 hours – and I woke up feeling like death, sore throat, swollen glands and a runny nose! So now it looks like I have come down with a cold or bug of some sort.

Argh.

I hate working out as you well know and I am not going to lie and say I don’t enjoy having time off from it, but I do get antsy when I can’t work out for this long and I’d take being healthy and working out over being ill any day!

However a few days ago I wasn’t near my own computer and needed to check it for some reason, and somehow came across a different one instead. Imagine my surprise when it gave me a different result for the exact same statistics.

According to this new one 26.2!

Yes I know it’s only a difference of .2 but I like to know exactly what the deal is at all times so it’s completely confused me – at the moment a 1lb loss = a .2 difference on the scale, so if the second result is more accurate then I need to adjust all my goals and everything.

How very annoying.

I am always on the look out for new weight loss and general health communities to join online, I have found them really useful over the last three years that I have been on this weight loss journey.

The first one I discovered was pretty basic, just allowing you to track your weight, have a profile and blog – then around a year later I found another one that was much bigger and had so much information, as well as food logs, exercise logs, tools to help you find out what calories you should be consuming each day and some really active forums.

I recently came across another one as well at www.wellnessdaily.com and it seems like it’s going to suit me down to the ground. They have so many articles covering many subjects from how to lose weight to how to keep it off once you reach your goals – this is something I need to start thinking about looking into myself.

They also have loads of videos, including one from Jillian Michaels on how to get the best out of a Kettlebell which I am watching right now, I have wanted to have a go with Kettlebells ever since I saw them on the first UK series of The Biggest Loser.

Wellnessdaily.com also have a contest going on at the moment via Twitter where you can win gym memberships and a years supply of Jennie-o turkey among other things – you can read all the information about how to enter that by following this link.

I don’t think Wellnessdaily is going to take over from my favourite community just yet as they don’t have many interactive features but with so many articles and constantly updating content it’s definitely going into my bookmarks folder

I was quite surprised when I weighed in tonight and had lost another pound, I was not expecting a loss this week as I have not worked out nearly as much as usual.

We took a trip away for 3 days so I didn’t get the chance to use my elliptical, though we did do an awful lot of walking so I suppose I probably burned as many calories that way.

Well for whatever reason it happened, I am definitely happy about it – it means that I have hit my next mini goal of being 9.9 and can now move onto the next one and the next one is a big one – when I reach my next goal of 9.2 I will no longer be overweight according to my BMI, I will be a healthy/normal weight.

Given how slowly I am losing these days I expect it to be at least a few months before I get there, probably in the summer – but get there I will

My fiance told me I was “obsessed with this weight loss thing” a few days ago, it was after I had told him about all my new goals – I can understand why he said it because when I started out my goal was 10.2 and I said I would be happy at that, now that I have reached and passed that I have about 6 new goals. Hmm.

My current weight is 9.10 and here are the new goals I have set and the reasons:

9.9 – Will be in double digit weight for the first time ever. My fiance points out I will be back into triple digits when I get to 8.13 but that’s not really the point, it’s just the first possible double digit number.
9.2 – My BMI will be 24.9, in the healthy range for the first and only time in my entire life.
8.13 – I will be under 9 stone.
8.8 – I will have lost a total of 100 pounds.
8.1 – I will have lost 50% of my body weight.
7.13 – I will be under 8 stone.
7.10 – 8 stone lost in total.

The way I see it this isn’t a bad thing, I lose weight very slowly and have kept myself motivated by setting these mini goals so it’s hard to get out of the habit – plus I always said that I wasn’t going to be ‘done’ at my initial goal weight as that was just the lowest I had ever been before and after that it was going to be new territory for me. At my new final goal I will still be sitting right in the middle of the healthy BMI weight range so it’s all good as far as I am concerned

When I was growing up I always had to wear eyeglasses, from around the age of 5 until I was about 18. I actually really liked wearing them – the day I used to go pick out a new pair was like a birthday to me.

Of course this changed when I got older and had to pay for them myself, I had no idea how much they cost before that – my poor parents must have spent $1000s on them for me.

I have missed them since I stopped needing to wear them, but at the same time was happy about the money I was saving.

Now I have found a site where you can get them for as little as $8, yes I said $8. The site is ZenniOptical and is a well known and respected company, they even had an article written about them in The Examiner recently.

At $8 I think I am going to order some with plain lenses to start wearing – I no longer need a prescription but that doesn’t mean I can’t still were glasses if I want to, right?

I think I am going to go for a nice black rimmed pair, keep it simple and classic – though they have an awful lot of much more funky ones to choose from.

I just realised it is now more than three years since I started out on my weight loss ‘journey’, and I hate calling it that because it’s so Biggest Loser – but really that’s what it has been.

I remember having many times of despair along the way, when it was hard, or weight loss was slow and thinking to myself that at this rate I will still be fat in 3 years – I managed to talk myself around by pointing out that I may still be fat in 3 years, but I’d certainly be a lot less fat and more healthy if I stuck with it than if I didn’t. That 3 years was going to pass either way, so I may as well stick at it – right?

And now here it is 3 years later, and yes I am still technically fat according to my BMI – but only just, I am very nearly at my goal and let me tell you I am infinitely happier and more confident in my own skin that I was then

You’d think that after being on this healthy lifestyle kick for almost three years now I’d have the ‘perfect’ diet down to a tee – but I am less than perfect. It’s hard finding the balance between staying low calorie but still having enough food to feel satisfied and get all the nutrients our body needs to function.

I am aware I don’t eat enough fruit and often lack in vitamin C and B. I am also aware that I eat more than my daily share of carbohydrates most of the time.

I think what I have learned to accept though is that there really is no perfect diet that you can stick to at all times, you just have to find the perfect balance.

I was just looking on VitaDigest, a well known and respected company that was awarded INC5000 last year. They have a wide range of almost 15000 vitamins and supplements available and I do need to stock up on my vitamin B tablets again they also sell a lot of diet and weight loss products, I could probably benefit from the low carb chocolate and banana bars – they offer free shipping on orders over $100 but I don’t think I will need to spend quite that much.
