So when I went downstairs today to get my supper, usually 2 slices of medium wholemeal bread, I remembered that I had already had 2 slices of bread with my tea tonight – so was looking for an alternative, I decided on porridge, but when I went into the cupboard something new was looking back at me Oatibix Chocolate Porridge – I checked the nutritional information and to my surprise a sachet is only 150 calories…so I thought I’d give it a go…porridge is really filling, really good for you, and now….a great way to feed the occasional chocolate cravings I get – BEST NEW FOOD STUFF EVER, right? Wrong. Imagine my disappointment when it came time to eat it, and it tasted like crap…looks gross, smells gross, tastes gross.

What a pity, it could have been my greatest find since I discovered I like beetroot.

I know that a lot of you guys are fellow web masters like myself, I run several websites and have done for many years so I like to think of myself as pretty knowledgeable in the area. There are many ranking systems out there, that measure a sites worth and popularity…Page rank, Alexa rank, Technorati rank…and there are as many sites and services that track, log and display all manner of statistics about the visitors to your site. Izea have recently launched a new service that does a similar job, but better that all of the others combined….why is it better? because IzeaRanks.com measures your real rank, unlike systems such as Page Rank which is totally ambiguous and makes you play guessing games most of the time, Real Rank simply measures your traffic, page views and subscribers – if you want to better your Real Rank then you know what you need to do and because the measure is taken on a daily basis…rather than every few months whenever the powers that be happen to feel like it…you can see the results of your work very quickly, you can learn what works for you and what doesn’t.

IzeaRanks.com is open to all, in order to start tracking your real rank all you have to do is register on the site, install a little code snippet called ITK Tools – you’ll be tracking your stats within a day or two. You can also chose to either make your information public – which is a good idea if you plan to sell advertising space and the like on your site, so that potential advertisers can see what they are getting, or you can set it to be private…only you will see specific details.

Real Rank comes highly recommended by me, it helps to keep me motivated to keep trying to better my sites :)

I just watched the make over episode on the The Biggest Loser Australia, and I happened to be on my elliptical at the time. If any thing will push you to go harder and for longer, it’s seeing people who have lost any where from 50 to over 100 lb getting new hair dos, clothes, and a mega confidence boost…and having Bob Harper all googoo eyed telling you that you have taken his breath away.

It’s made me want a hair cut at the very least haha

Back in February I came across a deal that allowed for me to create my own custom greeting card online, for just the cost of postage. I’d already got my other half a Valentines day card and had no birthdays or the like coming up, so wasn’t sure what to do with it. In the end I went for getting the other half an extra Valentines card, but with a twist…I thought about writing a silly poem, making it flirty and dirty, going cute…in the end I went with humour, because my other half and I share the same sense of humour completely. We’re mean to each other, because it amuses us. Yeah, it’s not to everyones taste but it works for us haha.

Tonight I came across a site called CardsDirect.com who also create custom photo cards, and this reminded me of the Valentines card and got me thinking about what other personalised cards it would be fun to send each other – and I have decided I want a card from him when I reach my goal weight! I already have the ‘perfect’ card in my head, it’ll have a picture of me at my goal weight, all posing and pert like and looking hot like after they have had the makeovers on The Biggest Loser and the caption will read ‘Congratulations, you’re not fat now!’, haha. The best part is, if I actually sent him the link to CardsDirect.com and told him I wanted a goal weight card, I get he’d come up with a very similar idea…only knowing him he’d go a bit meaner, and rather than a picture of me looking slim and hot, he’d go for one of me looking beastly ;)

You know, I have being doing this weight loss thing for over a year now, and in that time I have discovered what is the single worst part of it…going to bed hungry. It’s not often I find myself in that position, because I eat enough to fill me up and plan ahead, but some times it gets to the end of the day, I have had all my calories but I still want to eat – in the past I would try to ignore it, go to bed any way and then not be able to sleep because of it, other times I would fill up on water and then go to bed, but not be able to sleep because I was getting up for the toilet every 10 minutes.

What I have finally realised is, I hate it…it’s the most awful feeling….and I don’t do it any more, if I am hungry before bed – even if it’s ridiculously late, even if I already ate all my calories….screw it, I am going to eat before bed.

I just had a 200 calorie bowl of cereal at 4.30am and I don’t care, because at least I will get a good nights sleep :)

I am a huge fan of the Biggest Loser, the UK, American and Australian versions…and I love to see the women do well, as it is undoubtedly harder for women to lose weight than me…but I get so sick of hearing these women moan and winge and whine that a woman can never win this show, a woman CAN win The Biggest Loser and I know this because a woman won the last series of The Biggest Loser UK. Watch Jodie’s story and see her amazing transformation here:

Now try telling me it’s impossible for a woman to win! Pah.

Well, the weekly weigh in confirmed that random 3lb loss…still at 12.5. How did I happen? I don’t know, but it’s quite welcome to happen again any time it feels like it, I’d be thin by the summer haha.

My main goal weight, as it says to the left there is 10 stone. This is my goal because that was the weight I was when me and my Fiance started seeing each other – I was by no means thin then, but I was happy enough with how I looked. I felt like someone who was packing a few extra pounds rather than a big fat beastie as I have for the last few years.

Last night however I was looking at one of those height to weight charts…I am actually quite shocked that at 10 stone, I would still be classed as obese. At 9.2 I would be at the very top end of the normal weight range, and I could weigh as little as about 7.5 and still be in the normal range. That just seems insane to me – I have not been 7.5 since I was probably 10 years old. The lowest I have ever been as an adult is 10.2. Crazy.

Well, after my last entry professing that I was going to try harder at my work outs and really get things moving again…I only managed 30 minutes on my elliptical tonight. I don’t know what was wrong with me, but my legs just felt like they didn’t want me to work out tonight – I was ready to give up after 10 minutes, but pushed it to 30/250 calories. I have never been happier for a session to come to an end, ha.

Weekly weigh in time in about an hour, woo.

You know, as well as being conscious of what I am eating..I am also conscious of what I am eating it out of. When you spend your days looking at packaging, reading it, studying it…you also start to notice other things…and I am pleased to see more and more packaging is now using recyclable materials such as High Density Poly Ethylene (HDPE). HDPE is used in all sorts of consumer products these days, from carrier bags to margarine tubs and it can be recycled into many forms including HDPE flakes, HDPE cubicles and the more popular and sought after high grade HDPE Granules.

Yesterday I managed to do 50 minutes on my elliptical, over 400 calories burned according to the read out…though I sort of take that with a pinch of salt…as every online calculator says a different thing. I hadn’t really done that long on it in a few months, when my old one broke down and I was without one for 2 weeks, then I had a 9 day migraine I really got out of the swing of it. I have been doing it every day since then, but only managing 30 – 40 minutes. I am determined that I will get myself back up to 70+ a day, and pretty swiftly now also :)

Today is weigh day, I can’t wait to see if that random 3lb loss is going to stay off…or if as I suspect it was some sort of glitch and I will be having to add it back on! That won’t be fun, although I have done a lot of stalling and not losing lately…it’s ages since I have had a gain. That’s interesting actually, because gaining 1 or 2 lbs was pretty common for me before.
