			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img src="http://www.losingpounds.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/calories-150x150.jpg" alt="" title="calories" width="100" height="100" align="right" />I have decided it&#8217;s time to recount my calories &#8211; what I mean is I am going to make sure that I am eating what I think I am. As we know by now I eat mainly the same meals each week and over time it&#8217;s possible I rounded numbers up or down, forgot the exact numbers or my portion sizes crept up etc.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s a long time since I actually <em>counted</em> calories in my staple foods &#8211; assuming that I already just know them.</p>
<p>So over the next few days I am digging out the scales, reading the labels and making sure I know exactly what&#8217;s going into my body <img src='http://www.losingpounds.org/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It&#8217;s been a while since I last blogged, how naughty of me.</p>
<p>As I mentioned in my last post I did count my calories obsessively for about a week just to get an idea of what I was eating and making sure nothing had slipped &#8211; I checked the packages of everything, even the things I thought for sure I knew and I weighed everything also.</p>
<p><img src="http://www.losingpounds.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/plate_food-100x100.jpg" alt="" title="plate_food" width="100" height="100" align="left" />I am pleased to say there were no major surprises. The crab sticks that I thought were 12 calories each are actually 18 calories each but other than that everything was about what I had been counting it as &#8211; phew.</p>
<p>I now have a book containing all the &#8216;common&#8217; calories in the foods I eat regularly so as long as I keep my portion sizes in control I am good to go <img src='http://www.losingpounds.org/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Oooh look at that, I changed my main goal in the sidebar from 10 stone&#8230;as it has been since I started this journey, to 9.13 &#8211; yes it&#8217;s only a 1lb change, but I was thinking about it the other day and realised&#8230;why stop at 10 stone? That was my initial goal because I wanted to weigh less than I did when I started seeing my other half 5 years ago. But 1 more lb would make me into the 9 stone range, it&#8217;d make me less than when I started seeing my other half, it&#8217;d make me into a single figure number, it&#8217;d make me officially weight less than I have done in my whole adult life.</p>
<p>So yeah, a small change it might be&#8230;but it&#8217;s a good one <img src='http://www.losingpounds.org/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Being my birthday&#8230;well, technically yesterday now, but since I have not been to sleep yet it still counts&#8230;I allowed myself a slice of lovely gooey coffee cake, I can&#8217;t remember the last time I had cake. I had requested that no one get me any naughty foods, and mainly people obliged&#8230;.but my poor Dad was distraught at the thought of no coffee cake, it&#8217;s his favourite and a long birthday tradition in my family &#8211; so he went ahead and made one himself &#8211; this is insane, my Dad hasn&#8217;t never made a cake in his life, but he did a pretty good job <img src='http://www.losingpounds.org/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>I have to say though&#8230;I feel sickly now, really sickly. I only got a small piece, so it&#8217;s not like I gorged&#8230;I am not sure now if it is just in my head, because I know I just ate something naughty, or if it&#8217;s really made me a little sick simply because I am no longer used to such sugary foods? Either way, I won&#8217;t be going back for seconds &#8211; which can only be a good thing <img src='http://www.losingpounds.org/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif' alt=':D' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
