Well, I am afraid it has not been a very productive week work out wise. I was really busy on Monday and Tuesday and usually I’d work out at least a little bit any way, but I just felt like I had been hit by a ton of bricks – despite getting caught up on lots of sleep I was still worn out.

On Tuesday night a migraine hit me, so that explained why I had been feeling so rough. It has been a pretty mild one thankfully, but very persistent – I have not had a moments break from it.

Jump to yesterday when I was feeling a lot better and hadn’t had any visual disturbances in over 24 hours – and I woke up feeling like death, sore throat, swollen glands and a runny nose! So now it looks like I have come down with a cold or bug of some sort.

Argh.

I hate working out as you well know and I am not going to lie and say I don’t enjoy having time off from it, but I do get antsy when I can’t work out for this long and I’d take being healthy and working out over being ill any day!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of wellnessdaily.com. All opinions are 100% mine.

I am always on the look out for new weight loss and general health communities to join online, I have found them really useful over the last three years that I have been on this weight loss journey.

The first one I discovered was pretty basic, just allowing you to track your weight, have a profile and blog – then around a year later I found another one that was much bigger and had so much information, as well as food logs, exercise logs, tools to help you find out what calories you should be consuming each day and some really active forums.

I recently came across another one as well at www.wellnessdaily.com and it seems like it’s going to suit me down to the ground. They have so many articles covering many subjects from how to lose weight to how to keep it off once you reach your goals – this is something I need to start thinking about looking into myself.

They also have loads of videos, including one from Jillian Michaels on how to get the best out of a Kettlebell which I am watching right now, I have wanted to have a go with Kettlebells ever since I saw them on the first UK series of The Biggest Loser.

Wellnessdaily.com also have a contest going on at the moment via Twitter where you can win gym memberships and a years supply of Jennie-o turkey among other things – you can read all the information about how to enter that by following this link.

I don’t think Wellnessdaily is going to take over from my favourite community just yet as they don’t have many interactive features but with so many articles and constantly updating content it’s definitely going into my bookmarks folder

..from working out, I only worked out and burned 350 calories once this week on Friday. And I feel great about it.

I have been at this for over 2 years now and have always been completely motivated, I rarely take days off so to take a whole week off is crazy for me.

But I am finding it so hard to shift weight at the moment, I have only lost a mere 5lbs in the last three months. For two weeks I was working out at least two hours per day and still stepping on that scale on a Sunday and seeing no change.

This week I didn’t work out and I saw the same thing, no loss, no gain — so why should I feel bad about it. It may even help me and next week when I kick it up a notch again I might actually shift some weight. Who knows? But it loved having the week off, so there.

This week has been terrible diet and exercise wise. I started out the week eating four large cookies over two days — I can’t even explain why, I have been at this for over two years now and aside from during holidays or the like I have never pigged out so much.

Normally I would eat four cookies in about four months.

The following day I got smacked down with the mother of all migraines, I was completely wiped out — not even getting out of bed — for three days. I thought I was feeling better so tried a little go on Wii Fit but it caused me to totally relapse.

I do feel a little better now but although I want to work out, I don’t want to risk setting it off again…so will probably continue not working out for at least a few more days.

It’s been a week already since I last worked out.

It is weigh in time in around an hour, I am not looking forward to it one bit.

One thing that I have to do before I go away on holiday at the start of next week, is get 2 presents sorted…one for my dad for Father’s day and one for my brother’s 30th birthday – both of which happen while I am away. I have mentioned before I am sure that I find the men in my life so difficult to buy for, women are easy.

So I was pleased when I came across the Personalized flash drives from Pexagon Tech, giving a regular flash drive as a gift is not very interesting let’s be honest, it’s a purely practical thing and not the sort of gift I would normally give – but add in the ability to make it personal and I am sold, as well as being able to select the colour and size, you can get both sides engraved absolutely free – plus if you follow the link I posted above you can get an extra 20% off, meaning you can get the ideal Father’s day gift for as little as $8.79.

Heck I want one myself, a nice shocking pink one from my other half on our anniversary would be perfect, hint hint darling if you are reading this

One of the down sides of trying to live a healthy lifestyle in the UK is that at this time of year, it’s not so easy to get some fresh foods, salads especially – in the summer I practically live of off lettuce, radishes, cucumber etc – but at this time of year I simply don’t enjoy it. It’s times like this I would love to just pack up a bag and head off somewhere sunny and warm, for the relaxation as well as to sample real fresh produce, and where better for that than the Mediterranean!

Medhead.com is a great looking new property portal, with over 7000 properties available from many locations. Viewing the site really increases my current interest in going to stay in a gorgeous Spanish property There are so many neat things about the site, from the ultra stylish and professional design to it’s functionality – try it out for yourself, you can instantly translate the page in to one of the 7 different languages available, the search function is intuitive and easy to use.

Caloriecount.about.com is now my favourite online weight loss community. I discovered it in around October last year, and while I do still use ExtraPounds.com this has overtaken it as my favourite. I like that it has all the features that ExtraPounds does, like the weight and activity logs, the pretty graphs to chart your success etc. But I also find the site a lot easier to use, it’s easier to add activities and foods. Plus one of the best features is that it can tell you, based on the information you fill out and the goals you want to achieve, how many calories you should be consuming per day – as well as letting you know how many you naturally burn.

I find reading the blogs and especially the forums especially motivating, and I have learned an awful lot from the users there

I have tried really hard this week, I have worked out every day for up to 80 minutes, I have been great with my calories and I have been trying desperately to ditch the night time carbs. Gosh I hope that’s enough. Fingers crossed for me.

So I have just been away for an entire week, and I was very nervous about going because I knew that I wouldn’t be able to work out at all and wouldn’t have complete control over what I was eating. I went for the dreaded weigh in tonight and…I lost 4lbs…that is actually my biggest weight loss in a week since I started this thing almost a year ago. Go figure. Some times I think your body just does what it wants to do, I can have ‘good as gold’ weeks and lose nothing, then ‘bad’ weeks and lose 4lbs.

I’m not complaining, I now weigh 13 stone, I have officially lost over 2 and a half stone, I am just 1lb away from weighing 12 stone something. I feel like I am getting somewhere!
