Well the good news is that I am back on the dieting wagon after falling off it a few months ago. I’m eating healthily having cut out the naughty snacks like chocolate and sausage rolls and exercising daily.

At the moment I am only doing around 30 minutes a day most days as we have been spending all out spare time working on the house and I am sure that burns plenty of calories, more so than I usually do sitting around all day on the computer all day any way.

Today’s task is to fit the stainless steel kitchen sinks in the bathroom and kitchen. We took a long time picking out the sinks and faucets we wanted and finally settled on a lovely stainless steel kitchen sink set that fits both our tastes which is pretty rare, it was also a bargain as we picked it up in the sale.

It’s a good day to be stuck inside doing DIY as it’s cold, rainy and windy out there – brrr.

The 30 minutes of exercise I have been doing recently is the Jillian Michael’s 30 day shred, it’s an absolute killer which is why you can get away with only doing 30 minutes. So far I am only on level one (of three) so still have a way to go but so far I am enjoying it and hope to start seeing some benefits soon

I moved house on August 23rd and have gone from living with my parents to living with my boyfriend – I don’t think I really realised just how much they did for me at home until it stopped because at the moment I feel like I don’t even have a minute to myself.

Things were pretty strange the first few days and we did eat a lot of take away and general bad food but we quickly got back on track and I am pleased to say we are back to good healthy eating and I have even managed to lose a couple of pounds. I weight less than 9 stone for the first time in my entire life now

I have also got back into running, my knee plays up a little bit still sometimes but it’s not like it was – because of the gap in running I have gone backwards a bit and am having to build it back up again, but I hope to be back up to running for around 40 minutes soon enough.

Things are looking good.

Well, I am afraid it has not been a very productive week work out wise. I was really busy on Monday and Tuesday and usually I’d work out at least a little bit any way, but I just felt like I had been hit by a ton of bricks – despite getting caught up on lots of sleep I was still worn out.

On Tuesday night a migraine hit me, so that explained why I had been feeling so rough. It has been a pretty mild one thankfully, but very persistent – I have not had a moments break from it.

Jump to yesterday when I was feeling a lot better and hadn’t had any visual disturbances in over 24 hours – and I woke up feeling like death, sore throat, swollen glands and a runny nose! So now it looks like I have come down with a cold or bug of some sort.

Argh.

I hate working out as you well know and I am not going to lie and say I don’t enjoy having time off from it, but I do get antsy when I can’t work out for this long and I’d take being healthy and working out over being ill any day!

I am not the sort of person who runs to the doctor every time I sneeze but I think I may have to make an appointment about this, I am sure it’s not normal to be getting so many migraines.

The second one has now passed and tomorrow I am going to get back into the swing of things, again.

I really wish I could get the scale moving again, I have been in the same 5lb range, going up and down a few pounds at a time for around 3 months now. It’s crazy annoying

So, yeah.

With 15 out of the 20 workouts complete and only a few days to go I got a migraine and had to miss a few days, when I finally went to play it again a few nights ago I was informed that I now did not have enough time left to complete the 30 day challenge in 30 days.

Darnit!!

It says that I can still complete it but it won’t count.

The thing now is that I should just restart it, right? But given that I have lost no weight in the time I have been doing it, infact I have gained a few pounds — I really don’t have the desire or motivation to start it again.

*sigh*

Blasted migraine.

So with the treadmill having gone back and the weight not shifting through my usual methods at the moment — I went out and got EA Sports Active, I had heard a lot of good things about it and people were saying it was a lot better for getting a serious workout than Wii Fit, which I never really rated.

I am about half way through the 30 day challenge so far and I do really enjoy it, the games are fun but also knackering and I am feeling the benefits.

There’s no way it would provide enough of a workout on it’s own though, so I have been having 2 sessions per day — one on the elliptical and one on Ea Sports.

I have still not lost any more weight but I am going to see it through until the end of the 30 days.

If it still hasn’t worked I am really at a loss as to what to do next, I think I may have to start experimenting with eliminating things from my diet to see if it has an effect…aka a few weeks of drinking only water, a few weeks of completely cutting out all salt, a few weeks on low/no carbs etc.

I took my foot off the gas last week, I only worked out once and I had a very high calorie few days on Tuesday and Wednesday and I escaped unscathed, I did not gain any weight, but I am not going to push my luck.

This week I am back on the wagon and am going to do at least 2 hours of exercise per day. The week for me started yesterday and I met my goal — I did 70 minutes elliptical, 30 minutes Wii Fit and 40 minutes aerobics.

Yay me.

I will keep you updated on my progress. Though I imagine I won’t lose any weight, I just can’t shift it at the moment for love nor money — and that worries me because if I work out so hard and don’t lose weight, following a week when I didn’t work out and ate poorly, how ever am I going to motivate myself to work out and eat right in the next few weeks? eep.

Yeah it’s only a pound and it’ll be gone again soon enough, but why would I gain a pound? I am meant to be losing.

It seems like I just don’t know what I am doing at the moment, I don’t know if I should stick with it and keep trying as hard, or just assume that I am burning too many calories.

Oooh look at that, I changed my main goal in the sidebar from 10 stone…as it has been since I started this journey, to 9.13 – yes it’s only a 1lb change, but I was thinking about it the other day and realised…why stop at 10 stone? That was my initial goal because I wanted to weigh less than I did when I started seeing my other half 5 years ago. But 1 more lb would make me into the 9 stone range, it’d make me less than when I started seeing my other half, it’d make me into a single figure number, it’d make me officially weight less than I have done in my whole adult life.

So yeah, a small change it might be…but it’s a good one
